Carols by Candlelight

A painting of a little girl sitting at a table eating a Christmas pudding. The little girl is sitting on a wooden chair with a red and white striped pillow, she is wearing a red tshirt and a red and white striped hat. The Alice Martineau Appeal

Alice Martineau died from cystic fibrosis (CF) in 2003 aged 30, having achieved her ambition of signing a record contract with Sony BMG. The release of her album Daydreams in November 2002, and a BBC documentary about the nature of her illness and her determination to succeed against the odds, are testaments to an extraordinary individual who achieved much in a short life. Last year, the release of A Song for Tomorrow, a novel based on Alice’s life written by Alice Peterson, brought Alice’s story to a huge new audience. The novel has been translated into at least six languages, and the publicity around its publication briefly pushed Daydreams back into the top 50 pop albums on Amazon.
